accepted formats and pixel size
The official upload page accepts JPG, JPEG, PNG, HEIC and HEIF and states no pixel range. Several third-party tools claim JPEG-only and add a 600×600–1200×1200 range, which belongs to the visa form, not to this one.
How we handle it: We follow the official page. This tool outputs JPEG because it is accepted and is the safest of the five, and it does not impose a pixel range the Department does not publish.
